"I started meditation in 2006 for stress relief. Yoga soon followed and I was amazed at how good it felt to listen in to my body. I practice yoga because it gives me balance, calm, mental flexibility and helps build emotional & physical resilience. I love moving and the quiet space found meditating.
A former dancer, I have taught dance for over 10 years and try to draw aspects of this creativity and playfulness into my sequencing. I teach yoga to see people empower themselves within their own body. That moment when someone tries to balance in tree or do a headstand, and finds to their surprise that they can do it AND that the body can adapt (a particularly happy discovery for older yogis) is a wonderful feeling. I also hope people can find calming and grounding through practice, and I feel a real sense of satisfaction if I hear snoring or tummies gurgling when I lead a class to savasana."
